Huge packed hay bales, scattered in the fields like enormous white pearls shine in the sun. But every now and then a tear, a patch, a repaired cut appear. The harvested hay is wrapped in film to preserve its humidity and nutritional value. If damaged, they are patched up with adhesive tape to protect their precious contents.
Laura’s images describe the man-nature dual frailness and show that the wounds are healed but not erased. Reminding of a painful stage of her life, the patched bales show how to protect and heal, whether hay, body or soul.
